The most common type of HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) is called "Typical HUS" or just HUS.  Do not confuse regular HUS with Atypical HUS. 
--Regular HUS is also called infectious HUS
--Regular HUS is often accompanied by severe vomiting and diarreha
--Regular HUS is commonly caused by the E-Coli bacteria
--Other Gastronomical bacteria and viruses could also be a cause or regular HUS
--If the child survives the initial stages of Redular HUS,  the long term prognosis is good.
--Regular HUS causes destruction of red blood cells,damage to the lining of blood vessel walls, and in severe cases, kidney failure
--Recovery time from Regular HUS varies from several days to months
--For Regular Damaged red blood cells may clog the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys,making kidneys work hard, and dialysis may be necessary

Regular (d+) HUS is a rare but important cause of severe kidney failure in children. 2-4 new cases per 100,000 are reported-Possibly 7,500 children have Reguarl or D+ HUS
